In view of the growing importance of good governance and social responsibility of corporations and their significant contributions to the national economy, Centre for Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility (Centre for CG & SR) has been established in International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi
Aims & Objectives

• To serve as a resource centre in the areas of good governance, social responsibility and corporate citizenship for sustainable development of corporations both in the public and private sector,
• To organize national and international conferences, round tables , seminars, guest lecturers and other similar events on the above subjects,
• To document and publish best practices of corporate governance and social responsibility for dissemination and awareness creation,
• To provide a forum for study, consultancy and research and build association with government agencies, industry bodies and academic institutions working in these areas.
• To analyze critical issues like adequacy of legal and regulatory framework of corporate governance, effectiveness of Board  of Directors, and Board sub committees, strategic management issues, role of Independent Directors, protection of shareholder interests and adequacy of financial reporting and  disclosures,
• To study governance challenges of state-owned enterprises and recommend reform initiatives for  empowerment of the enterprises,
• To undertake training, orientation and evaluation of CEOs, Directors, Independent Directors and other senior executives and managers of the corporations.

An Advisory Committee has also been constituted under the Chairmanship of Prof Arun Kumar Rath with the following members to advice on the activities and programmes of the Centre:

• A visit of Dr. Janez Podobnik, Acting Director General, International Centre for Promotion of Enterprises, Ljubljana(Slovania) was organised on 9^th July’12. at IMI New Delhi which concluded with a fruitful interaction with the faculties in identifying areas of mutual concern and collaboration.
• An MDP on MoU: Evaluating Performance of Public Enterprises was recently organized at USI New Delhi during 7^th -9^th August 2012 in which 46 Senior management personnel participated representing 24 companies, which is a record for IMI New Delhi. The Programme Directors were Prof. Arun K. Rath & Prof. Prashant Gupta
• Distinguish lecture by Mr. U. K. Sinha, SEBI Chairman on the topic of  "Towards More Effective Boards : Issues & Challenges“ scheduled on Tuesday, 11 September, 2012 at SCOPE Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. 
• A workshop for Full time and part time Directors along with Chairman/ CMDs/ CEOs from PSUs/  private Sector/ MNCs titled “Director’s Conclave: Towards Value Adding Board” at Jaypee Greens Golf & Spa Resort on 28^th -29^th September 2012.
• Given Consultancy to Dept. of Public Enterprises, GOI for Monitoring of performance of CPSEs
• A government sponsored Study on present practices in Corporate governance and recommendations for Government enterprises
• A workshop for Full time and part time Directors along with Chairman/ CMDs/ CEOs from PSUs/  private Sector/ MNCs titled “ 2^nd Director’s Conclave: Towards Value Adding Board” at Palm Beach Resort, Bangalore on 27^th -29^th June 2013.
• An Open MDP on “Towards More Effective CSR Challenges for Corporate Managers” organized at USI, New Delhi on 25 – 27 July’13
• Consultancy to OIL India Ltd. On “Integrating CSR with Business Strategy” organized three different workshops to sensitize the executives with the above stated subject in Aug, Sep, & Nov 2013
• Organized a one month ITEC programme on “Corporate Governance and excellence in Public Enterprise management” in Aug-Sep 2013 sponsored by MEA Govt. of India
• Given Consultancy on Capacity Building for Board Positions - Oil India Limited 7-8 June, 2014
• Organized an open MDP on “Enterprise Risk Management: Challenges & Opportunities” on 18-20 June ‘14 at New Delhi
• Organized an open MDP on “Enterprise Risk Management: Challenges & Opportunities” on 28-30 August ‘14 at Bhubaneshwar
• Organized a one month ITEC programme on “Corporate Governance and excellence in Public Enterprise management” in Sep’14 sponsored by MEA Govt. of India
