Dr. Prateek Bedi is an Assistant Professor in the area of Finance and Accounting at International Management Institute, New Delhi. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Shivaji College, University of Delhi, a master’s degree in Finance and Control, and a Ph.D. in Corporate Finance from the Department of Finance and Business Economics, University of Delhi. Dr. Bedi has cleared both levels of the FRM certification offered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, USA, and Level 1 of the CFA certification offered by the CFA Institute, USA. He has participated in the Faculty Development Programme on Pedagogy and Research Methods at IIM Ahmedabad and the Research Summer School in Empirical Finance and Accounting Research at IIM Calcutta. Additionally, he has earned the NSE Academy’s Investment Analyst Champion and Level 2 Market Professional certifications. A recipient of the CFA Access and Professor scholarships, along with UGC’s Junior and Senior Research Fellowships, he was also granted a registration fee waiver for the EconWorld 2019 Conference in Budapest, Hungary. He mentors the Sports Club and Unstop Igniters Club at IMI New Delhi and previously served on the curriculum revision committee for the PGDM (Banking and Financial Services) program. His teaching areas include Corporate Finance, Fixed Income Securities, Cost and Management Accounting and Investment Management.

Previously, Dr. Bedi has worked as an investment associate at Jones Lang Lasalle Investment Advisors Private Limited after completing his master’s degree. He has also taught finance courses on an ad-hoc basis at IIM Amritsar, the University of Delhi’s Department of Finance and Business Economics, and Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies. Additionally, he has served as a resource person for finance programs offered by NSE Academy and BSE Institute Ltd. He has delivered workshops on panel data econometrics, multiple discriminant analysis, and advanced MS Excel at various platforms, including Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (ATAL program) and Delhi Technological University.

With research interests in corporate finance, corporate governance, and risk management, Dr. Bedi has published his work in prominent journals, including Emerging Markets Review, Research in International Business and Finance, and the Indian Journal of Finance. He has received multiple ‘Best Paper’ awards at several forums, including the CRISIL Doctoral Symposium at IIM Ahmedabad, the Doctoral Consortium at IIT Bombay and events held at FLAME University, IBS Gurgaon and University of Delhi. Additionally, he has presented his research at various platforms such as the SEBI-NISM Research Conference, IIM Bangalore, IIT Delhi, Chennai Mathematical Institute, IIT Kharagpur, IIM Kashipur, World Finance Conference and IIFT Delhi. He has also served as a reviewer for Journal of Indian Business Research, Global Business Review, Future Business Journal and Financial Innovation.
