At IMI the agenda governing the placement activities is primarily a student  driven exercise. However, recognizing the importance  of placement, IMI has a Corporate Relations and Placement  Committee comprising a Dean, (Corporate Relations) and a group of faculty members  supported  by a Sr. Manager-Corporate Relations, Placements and MDP.

In order to facilitate the placement  process,  the placement  committee  driven by the above group oversees the conduct of a comprehensive recruitment  program. The process for Summer Internship,  NGO internship,  Final Placement  or live projects are organized by the student co-coordinators with guidance and support from the Corporate Relations and Placement  Committee (CR&PC) team. Together, this group keeps in constant  touch with the corporate houses  and other key recruiting entities and with the alumni.

The placement  committee  offers advice, assistance and counselling to the PGDM (full-time), PGDHRM (full-time), and Executive PGDM (full-time) participants  and provides them with necessary resources and skills. These are planned  with a focus on securing 100% placement  and internship for these students.

Though the institute puts in all efforts to facilitate placement  of students, the primary duty of the institute is to enhance the employability of students  rather than providing them with employment.
