PLACEMENT REPORT FOR BATCH OF 2012


The end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 were marked by a sluggish economy and a slowdown in hiring across most industries. Despite these obstacles, IMI was able to conduct a largely successful final placement season. 49 companies descended on campus to hire a batch of 152. 115 of these students were from the PGDM program and 37 were from PGDHRM, IMI’s dedicated HR program.


PGDM Placements
A large chunk of the recruitment was in the BFSI space (27%). Prominent recruiters from this sector were HSBC Bank, JP Morgan Chase, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IDBI Bank etc. The profiles offered varied across the finance, marketing and operations specializations. Some of these profiles were: Treasury, Corporate Banking, Wealth Management, Asset Management, Financial Analyst, Operations Analyst, Relationship Management etc. Companies like Ranbaxy Laboratories, Asian Paints and Infosys BPO also offered finance profiles.

The next highest recruitment was in the Consulting space (21%).  Prominent recruiters were Deloitte Consulting, Barclays Shared Services, EXL Services etc. Regular recruiters like AT Kearney, Ernst & Young GSS, Infosys Technologies and Axis Risk Consulting re-affirmed their faith in IMI despite the general gloom in the economy.

Among first-time recruiters for PGDM were ADM, Bharti Realty, Capgemini, ITC Hotels and Michael Page International offering exciting profiles to students across specializations.

The budding marketers of IMI were able to bag opportunities in companies like Asian Paints, UB Group, Jumbo Electronics, MakeMyTrip ,Maruti Suzuki  India Ltd, Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd etc.

The goal was to have a basket of companies offering the best fit for the diverse specialization mix that was the batch of 2012, and to match expectations regarding role as well as compensation. In the end, IMI was largely successful in achieving that goal.

 


 

PGDHRM Placements
The placement season for the batch of 2012 confirmed the growing stature of IMI’s dedicated HR program across the industry.  For the batch of 37, some of the recruiters were RPG Group, RP-SG Group, Deloitte Consulting, Ranbaxy Laboratories, MakeMyTrip , Hero Motocorp, ICICI bank, Infosys Technologies,  MB Informatics ,Wipro BPO etc. Students accepted PPOs from organizations like Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and Noam Consulting.

Among new recruiters were Fresenius Kabi Oncology Ltd,  KRIBHCO  and Bharti  Reality Holdings Ltd.

Summer Internship
 

IMI has been a pioneer in creating students with not only excellent management skills but also with capabilities of leading in the corporate world. At IMI, management is taught by applying it in real life complex business world situations. Apart from the course curriculum where students practice management theories and fundamentals in case based methodology environment, students also undergo a summer internship program where they get an opportunity to apply their management skills in a live business environment. The internship not only acts as a bridge to transit from theories to the  dynamic business environment but also as an opportunity to learn and experience the job profile which students intent to choose as their career path.

This year more than 70 companies visited IMI campus to recruit for the summer internship program. These companies represented almost all sectors of(in the)  business world:  Banking, Financial services, Insurance, Consulting, FMCG, Manufacturing, IT, Pharmaceuticals, Advertising, and Media. These companies offered internship with a profile specializing in the area of Finance, Marketing and Sales, Market research, Advertising, Consulting, Strategy, HR, Information Management, and Operations.


PGDM Summer Placements

The prominent recruiters that offered finance profiles included  Allahabad Bank, American Express, Aviva Life Insurance Company Ltd., Baxter India, E.I. DuPont Services India Pvt. Ltd., Escorts Finance, Power Finance Corporation, Punjab National Bank, Research PE India and Tata Capital among others. The roles which were offered were Asset Management, Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Private Equity, Retail Banking and Wholesale Banking.

Many eminent names from corporate world recruited students for the Marketing and Sales profile. The prominent recruiters were Asian Paints Ltd., Baxter India, Bharti Reality, Black & Becker India pvt.ltd, DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd., Hector Beverages, Hero MotoCorp Ltd., Onida, Perfetti Van Melle, Radico, Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd., Taj Safari, Tata Agrico, Tetrapak India and Water Jet Germany Private Limited.

Companies such as Bates 141 India, DDB Mudra and Maccan Ericson recruited students in advertising sectors for profiles such as Account Planning and Strategic Advertising. Information Management and consulting profiles were offered by companies such as CapGemini (India) Pvt. Ltd., MCI global, Milward brown, Univariety and QAI.

The prominent recruiters for the operations profile were Jindal Steel Pvt. Ltd., Kholer India, Maruti Suzuki Ltd., Renault and World Windows Group. IMI students were also preferred by various eCommerce business companies such as Make My Trip, My Dala and We Are Holidays.

 

PGDM-HR Summer Placements

The prominent recruiters for HR students offered diversified and challenging roles in the field of Human Resources and Industrial Relations. The companies that recruited HR students represented a variety of sectors such as Automobile, Banking and Financial services, FMCG, Insurance, HR & Strategy Consulting, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing etc.
